Can your landlord refuse your emotional support animal? No, they cannot. According to the Fair Housing Act (FHA), it is illegal for a housing provider to discriminate against individuals with disabilities.
This means that they cannot deny a rental or sale based on a person's disability. Additionally, they must use the same application and qualification criteria for those with mental or physical disabilities as they would for non-disabled persons.
The rental fees, sales price, or rental terms and conditions must also be the same for everyone, regardless of their disability status.
